New Radio Station!

There is a new radio station, it is 93.9. It provides music from the past and today. It is music that you can dance to and it is my dad's new favorite station because he is pretty much still living in the past. I was surprised by the songs to. Many were actually pretty nice because you can see what the hits were from the past and they actually have a good ring to it. You guys should all tune into this new station, you may be surprised. (:

Life Without Music

As I watched a movie in my Medical Skills class, I began to wonder. It was a movie on a deaf man and how he lived his life. Then I started thinking about how life would be if I couldn't hear. Music is such a huge part in my life, it is something that keeps me in tune with my emotions. I couldn't imagine my life without hearing the tapping of a pencil or the flipping of a page. It was quite an eye opener to see what people actually go through. We should all appreciate what we have because we may be taking it for granted.

Akon: In Trouble

Popular Hip Hop artist is in big trouble. He pleaded guilty of being accused of throwing a fan off stage last summer. Apparently, Akon was performing at a Minor League Stadium and apparently he threw a a teenage boy off the stage and the boy got fell on a girl who suffered a concussion. He has now said that he did do this, but he will not be serving any jail time. All he must do is 65 hours of community service and simply pay a $250 fine. As Akon left the court, he said no comment about the situation, but many are in shock. Akon released his new album "Freedom" earlier this month.

Fall Out Boy CD

Since Tuesday, the new Fall Out Boy CD titled "Foile a Deux" has been out in stores. "Folie e Deux" stands for shared madness of two. I had friends that waited in line just to buy it on the release date. This Cd includes the pupular single " I Dont Care." The group said that they are taking a different approach to this new album. Even thought they are used to always topping the charts, they insist on the fact that they simply want to create good music for their fans. Fall Out Boy said that they put so much effort into the album and they think that it will pay off. So anyone of you fans of Fall Out Boy? Go check out their new CD, it is sure to impress you.

Lil Wayne concert and Jingle Ball 2008

Last weekend was quite eventful for many of us. Many went to the Jingle Ball and to the Lil'Wayne Concert. I went to the Jingle Ball and really enjoyed it. The performances were awesome especially the perfromance by Fall Out Boy and Rihanna. However, I really would have enjoyed it more if Chris Brown had performed a little longer. He only sang two songs and I was expecting more. There was like 15,000 people there and the whole audience really connected to the performers. It was a very refreshing event. Unfortunately, I was unable to go to the Lil'Wayne concert, but many of my friends did go and said how awesome it was. I heard that T-Pain and DJ Khaled made appearances. I wanted to hear you guys' feedback on both the concerts if you went. Let me know what you thought about it.

Music and Your Brain

I was recently doing some research about how music affects us and I found out some pretty interesting information.
-The rhythm of music organizes your physical movements
-It is said that if you listen to Mozart prior to taking a test that you would have a better score than if you did not listen to music at all
-Music helps decrease chance of Alzheimers and stroke
-People with a music background or somewhat great passion for music do better on the SATs
